Warkworth Ridge Subdivision

Warkworth Ridge

Warkworth Ridge Subdivision is a 643 lot subdivision that commenced in December 2020 for Templeton Group. BHE has shifted over 800,000m³ of dirt to date, overcoming challenging terrain with poor ground conditions and extremely wet weather. The contract works have been split into a dozen stages; where BHE has been operating in up to 8 stages simultaneously to meet client deadlines. BHE has now been awarded the Stage 3B civil contract. 

Green View Subdivision

Long Bay

Long Bay Stage 14B is a 72 lot subdivision that is a short walk from Long Bay Regional Beach for Templeton Group. This is a technically challenging job consisting of in ground palisade walls, steel and timber retaining walls, Terramesh basket, slope stabilsation and a variety of civil works, predominantly managed by Dreenan Civil. With constrained working room and a particularly sensitive ecology, BHE have delivered on time and budget. The project is scheduled to be completed in October 2024. 

East Coast Road

Silverdale

One of the landmark subdivisions at Silverdale, Auckland. The site is located right next to the high-volume public transportation, which includes a public bus station, motorway and popular retail shops. BHE is responsible for the dust, sediment and erosion controls, scheduled earthworks, shear keys, unsuitable materials and futured stormwater pond. Total cut to fill volume is 180,785 m³.

Palliser Downs

Wainui 

BHE have been shaping large lifestyle blocks in 80ha of the rolling hills of Wainui. BHE have helped the client, Cabra Developments, bring their vision to life by shifting 120,000m³ of dirt to install shear keys, reshape the land and form the subgrade for roads and driveways. 

The Landing

Ruakaka

The project is located at 36km from Whangarei city centre and about 140 km from Auckland CBD, owned by WFH Properties Ltd. BHE started at April 2019, and by the middle of Oct 2019, 3 stages of earthworks were completed. 

Meridian Energy - Te Uku Wind Farm

Raglan 

BHE completed the base excavation of 28 wind turbines in 2010. The site was challenging and we were permitted to make significant changes to the original design. This allowed us to build a section of road through steep terrain away from the existing track so that traffic could access the plateau away from works. Allowing departure from design not only reduced construction costs but also minimised the environmental impact. This section of road is now named ‘Bobs Ridge’. 

The Lakes 

Tauranga

The Lakes development was completed by Grasshopper Farms Ltd and Bob Hick Earthmoving Ltd was a sub-contractor on-site from August 2006 to 2009. The Lakes is a lifestyle town subdivision covering some 250 hectares, with housing and community recreational facilities, featuring walkways, cycleways, native landscaping with a strong community focus. 

Te Rapa Bypass

Hamilton

The area known as Onion Hill cut through the hill with an 18m cut to the rail bridge fill area. 80,000m³ was excavated through variable materials from good volcanic clays through to white ash, which was extremely wet and greasy and could only be moved by loading track trucks. The new Onion Road was aligned approximately 1km through farm paddocks with the bulk of material 30,000m³ carted in with Moxy’s from the borrow area. Contract completed June 2011. 

Richmond Development

Mt Wellington, Auckland 

BHE was engaged for the earthworks and retaining-wall works at Hillside road, Mt Wellington. The most challenging part of this work was to build a 1,000 m² shotcrete wall on scoria rock. The job was completed within 4 months after the approval was received from Heritage NZ. 

Work commenced May 2019 and was completed January 2020. Unfortunately work was held up for three months due to an archaeological discovery of bones. 

Kensington Park

Orewa

The development consisted of several complex building sites. Therefore, accuracy is key utilising an onsite GPS base station and Topcon’s machine control systems. The results were fantastic, the client was happy to see the detail and level of accuracy achieved with our systems in place. 

Grand Drive

Orewa

11.87 hectare section located at left hand side of Grand drive, Orewa is subdivided to 117 residential Lot. BHE have done 308, 700 m³ cut and fill volume in total and the project was completed in 2016. 

Fairway Garden

Golflands, Papakura

The project is a retirement village next to Pakuranga Golf Club. BHE was the main contractor for the stage 1 earthwork and civil works. 

Donovan Ave

Massey

The subject site is located at Donovan Ave, Massey. A 7 Lots subdivision, including earthworks, demolition and public drainage works. The project started in late 2019 and completed in January 2020. 

Fred Taylor Drive

Massey 

27.2-hectare green-field site has been transferred in to 8 Lot superblocks with approximately 201,500 & 182,500 m³ cut and fill volumes. The old swamp and lake were reshaped to create a new stormwater wetland with modernised features. The earthwork portion commenced March 2017 and was completed November 2018.
